Drug and Alcohol Screening

In accordance to employer/referrer requirements, Humanomics carries out Drug screening as well as Alcohol Breath Screening.

The Drug Screen process is used to detect various metabolites of drugs in human urine and Oral Fluid (Saliva).

Humanomics conducts the assessments in accordance with Australian Standard AS4308 (2008), and AS4760 – 2006 for the following drugs:

  • THC (Marijuana, Cannabis)
  • Amphetamines (Speed)
  • Methamphetamines (Ecstasy/Ice)
  • Benzodiazepines (Sleeping tablets)
  • Cocaine
  • Opiates (Codeine & Heroin) e.g. Pain-relieving medications/cold & flu tablets

The Drug and Alcohol screening can be conducted at one of our clinics, or onsite utilising Humanomics Mobile Van Facility.  This allows Companies to enjoy the convenience of workers not having to leave site for screening, and creates time savings as immediate reporting can be provided.

Through our close working alliances, Humanomics has the capability to provide drug and alcohol testing for our valued clients across New South Wales.

Disclosure of information

The desired outcome is to achieve negative results for above mentioned drugs. However, in our experience, we do see some false positive results due to possible combination of non-prescribed/prescribed medicated drugs. Therefore, disclosure of medically prescribed or over the counter drugs ingested is very important prior to proceeding with the screen.

Result Findings

Any non-negative or positive result may involve:

  • Contacting the employer and/or
  • Referral to an Accredited Laboratory for chain of custody, forwarding the findings to employers.

Humanomics has established a strong relationship with a Pathology Organisation, who share similar best practices principles to Humanomics, where accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism are first and foremost.
